As a church, we recognize the incredible complexity of the history of our nation and the relationship between settlers and the Indigenous Peoples of our land since contact.
We want to continue to learn and pray with our Indigenous neighbours as we seek healing and reconciliation.
Red Clover is the organization we’ve worked with to host our Walking Together in a Good Way weekends. They have great resources here, including the TRC 94 Calls to Action, explanation of UNDRIP (UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples), the Doctirne of Discovery and more: https://www.redclover.ca/resources
Here is a great short understanding of Christian and Indigenous history in Canada:

Another way to do that is to understand the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and to pray through the articles together. Below is a document and series of videos that will do just that. Each page of the document is followed by a video guiding you through it. You can find a copy of the UNDRIP articles at this link.
We intend to Walk Together in a Good Way, alongside our Okanagan/Sylix and Splatsin neighbours, seeking reconciliation and justice. We will continue to pray with and for our neighbours for guidance and a way forward together.
